For one month in 2017 I documented a slow cultural shift happening in Iran. In the age of globalisation, the Iranian regime finds it increasingly difficult to control its citizens. While political and religious leaders firmly project their conservative vision on the country, as they have done for decades, an increasingly progressive population emerges.

I wanted to capture this changing relationship, the tightrope dance between the old and the new. In a country where having progressive thoughts can get you killed, reinvention goes slowly. But it is happening, against all odds.
